Aura lives with her 7 children and her parents in a 3 room shack in Guatemala City's famed Zone 3 garbage dump. The front door opens into a room carpeted with junk salvaged from the dump. A Gift at the Door. How CHF's Food Pak is opening doors of hope for the poor in America

Nutrition Matters
When hunger strikes poor families in America's inner cities, nutrition often becomes a secondary priority. The urgency of empty stomachs leads them to binge on fast food or whatever food is available.

Frontlines Summer 2007
CHF's international programs are giving impoverished children a new opportunity to experience the joy of their youth. Travel with us as we visit some of the programs that are providing children with what they need to become all that God intends them to be.

"This Precious Box"
CHF’s Food Pak is the tool that has turned the tide for our Mercy Network in Guatemala. Designed as relationship-building tools, Food Paks enable pastors and ministry volunteers to bring a supplemental box of food directly to the family who needs it.

FrontLines - Spring 2007
New Opportunities To Connect The Supply To The Need When a child cries out in need of food, that is an opportunity to love. When a village reaches out, asking for outside help in restoring the hope of its people, that is an opportunity to serve. When a company offers truckloads of food, that is an opportunity to share.

Making 4¢ Feed A Child
Just before the holidays, I had the opportunity to lead a team to Peru where I was reminded again of the incredible impact poverty has on children and families. Peru is not unique in this regard. The Gift Of Christmas Joy
Children’s Hunger Fund® (CHF) supplies local ministries with resources to help them connect with the poor and bring joy into their lives. Each year, these ministries reach out to the poor in their communities by holding holiday events. The food and toys they give out are used as tools to build relationships with needy families in an effort to address the deeper needs they may have.

Annual Report 2006
Dear Friends: At Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF), we are continually amazed at the incredible blessings and opportunities we have to serve the world’s poorest children. Each year reveals new needs, and each year God provides amazing new resources to help us fill those needs in the lives of hungry children. 2006 was no exception.

FrontLines Year In Review 2006
When we look back on 2006, we will see an unbelievable year of growth and opportunity to feed needy children!

A Season of Hope
In just a few days, the holiday season will be upon us. For most of us, this is a time of celebration with family and friends. However, for millions of children and families this can be a time of great suffering. Currently, there are more than 12.5 million children who are poor and are at risk of hunger.

A Season of Celebration
Children's Hunger Fund trains caring volunteers from a network of churches to deliver food directly to the homes of poor children and families Through this approach, thousands of lives are being transformed each year. Below are a few of the testimonies that some of our local network of churches shared with me this past week…

Passionate for the Poor
Meeting the needs of the poor in Guatemala is now possible through the newly established Mercy Network. Latin America Regional Director, José Luis Amézquita is enthusiastic about the potential. “I believe deeply in my heart that God is about to do great things through the Mercy Network in Guatemala.”

FrontLines Summer 06
“Part of a complete breakfast!” the announcer proudly states about the high sugar/low value cereal he’s advertising. It sounds good, but what he’s really saying is, “It will take a lot more nutritious and varied foods to make this a healthy and complete meal”. As we seek to bring hope into the lives of needy children, Children’s Hunger Fund is deeply concerned about improving their nutrition and overall health.

Indonesian Impact
Much of our recent activity has centered in Southeast Asia. We sent a team to the Philippines to explore the development of a CHF Mercy Network there. We are encouraged by the broad-based support and it appears that all is in place to begin food and medical distributions this fall.

Summertime Supply
With the summer months rapidly approaching, I want to bring to your attention a staggering challenge that each of us should be concerned about: summertime hunger among children.

FrontLines Spring 2006
Five dollars. It’s not much. It’s a hamburger or a magazine. It’s a large latte. But to children living below the poverty level in Los Angeles, five dollars is a lot of money.

Children In Need Of Champions
As you read this, I am in Uganda with a team from CHF, assessing our Mercy Network there. Your support has been instrumental in helping us address malnutrition among refugee children. Emergency food shipments have helped stabilize the diet for thousands of suffering children.

Be a Children's Champion
I am sitting at my desk reflecting in amazement at the things God has enabled Children’s Hunger Fund to accomplish. This Christmas, we supplied toy distributions in 25 city events across the country, blessing 500,000 children with a new toy. Another 8 million children in developing countries around the world also received toys from CHF. What an incredible opportunity to communicate to children that there is a God who loves and cares for them.

Annual Report 2005
It’s been a year of incredible challenges and achievements for Children’s Hunger Fund. From the disasters in Indonesia and America’s Gulf Coast, to the weekly food distributions in CHF’s Mercy Networks around the world, CHF was there. From air drops of toys for the children of Iraq, to ministry expansions in Peru, Chicago and San Antonio, Children’s Hunger Fund has reached more needy children with food and other aid than ever before. As you read our Annual Report, see how CHF, with your help, responded to the needs of children worldwide in 2005

Hunger has a face. It peers at you with innocent eyes from the shadows of cardboard shantys. It greets you with expectant smiles in the cities where we live. It curiously scans you for a hint of kindness. Hunger calls to you, in need of your compassion.
